Microsoft Excel - HELP!

Any way to weed out duplicates in an excel file?

Is there a formula or something?

Re: Microsoft Excel - HELP!

insert another column and do something like this:

=IF[a1=(a2:a55), FALSE]

whatever returns N/A are unique, and whatever has a value, is a duplicate

might have my brackets in the wrong spot though

Re: Microsoft Excel - HELP!

thanks, one more question ... how do I get two cells to become one cell?

Meaning if I have "Chrissy" in one cell and "Ricky" in another ... can I get them into one cell to say "Chrissy Ricky"? Is that possible?

use this formula:

ie: a1 chrissy, b1 ricky

=CONCATENATE(A1,B1)

which will give you chrissyricky

You'll have to hilight both cells and right-click, Format Cells, Alignment Tab, Check off "Merge Cells". You may have to retype data. Not sure exactly what you're trying to do.

Re: Microsoft Excel - HELP!

I found it

A1: Chrissy
B1: Ricky

The formula is

=(A1&" "&B1)

= Chrissy Ricky

that actually merges the cell into one cell, using the data from the first selected...

ie: makes two boxes one box...

Re: Microsoft Excel - HELP!

I just read the CONCATENATE formula too. Thank you for that.
