Feeling guilty about wishing for a certain gender
I know that with the first born most of us just wish for a healthy baby and then the next one is where we wish for what we didn't get the first time.
I feel so guilty but I really am wishing for a girl these days. I have a strong girl feeling. DH has it too (as well as my dad and my bf).
I know that I will be just as happy with a little boy and it won't matter when baby gets here, but I REALLY want to have a mother daughter relationship of my own. I love my mom and have a great relationship with her and my mom and my grandma (RIP) were really close too.
How do I stop myself? I don't want to resent a boy for not being a girl.

Re: Feeling guilty about wishing for a certain gender
Don't worry, you won't resent the baby at all if it turns out to be a boy. I think it's natural to want a certain sex. I know that even though I want a girl, I had been so convinced from the begining that i was having a boy that when it came time to find out the sex, I was worried I would be disappointed if it was a girl. Turns out my original intuition was right, but I know I would have been thrilled no matter what- and you will be too.

Re: Feeling guilty about wishing for a certain gender
One of the reasons we found out with our first was I had to prepare myself if it was a girl, because I wanted a boy so badly. I think it is normal. This time I just want a healthy baby so I am not obsessed with the sex of the baby.

I wanted a boy so badly. But, I had a gut feeling I was having a girl. Everyone was telling me it was a girl. So, when I was told boy I was so shocked.

Re: Feeling guilty about wishing for a certain gender
I wanted a boy for my first for as long as I can remember... and so did DH. I always said I wanted 3-4 boys and no girls if had a choice in the matter
However when I found out I was PG, I truly believed I was having a girl.. I was convinced of this! And even though I had always wanted that boy, thinking "girl" thoughts was OK with me.. and the more I would think about it and look at girly stuff, the more I could see myself with a daugher..
But lo and behold, we found out it was a boy ... and even tho at that point I had the 'girl' mindset and I was SHOCKED, we were both sooo happy just to know he was healthy.
I guess my point is that in the end, I realized that despite me always wishing for a boy, when I truly believed I was carrying a girl i was just as happy with that thought I think it took me finding out the gender to realize that I really would be happy with either sex
