If it had DH name on it and he signed it, can I deposit it into my account?

At my bank we have found we can do almost anything! We actually deposited a check that was written to our DOG!

If he has an account there, then they may do it bc they can look up his signature card. That's what they did for us when we deposited some wedding checks. We bank with Citibank also.

I think it depends on the bank but for the most part, the name of the person on the check needs to be in the account as well for the check to be deposited.

Unless you guys have a joint account, then NO. His name and your name must be on this account you are depositing to.
Otherwise I think you're gonna have a problem.

I do this all the time. DH signs the back of the check...then I sign underneath his name and write my account number and deposit it.
DH is not on the bank account...never had any problems.

We do have a joint account but by mistake I wrote my account # on the back. I guess I'll just tell them I made a mistake and have them put it in the joint one.

Oh, if thats the case, ya, you should have no problem with it then. They can change that for you. They will just cross out the acct you wrote.

at Citbank- they let me depost check $1500 or less in his name with out him
and if the check is more he has to be there-
his name is not on my account- it has never been a problem

Depends on the Bank...Usually if he signs it over to you, then it's fine. Some places don't accecpt third party checks unless you both have accts there.
