Concerts at Hoyt Farm in Commack ? **WOOPS ERROR**
Has anyone been to these ? We finally plan to REALLY go this year  and the band tomorrow nite (its every Thurs evening) is BIG SHOT, the Billy Joel tribute band  Im kinda excited, I heard theyre excellent !
So what do you suggest we bring, blankets or lawn chairs? Will the kids be bored, maybe stuff for them to do? or is it more where people stand and watch and dance and sing along?
Also, how are the kiddie concert nites, I Cant wait for those

incase anyone was planning to attend.:
Smithtown has TWO different concert series.
The Thursday nite one is AT THE SMithtown Main St. Library, on the front lawn (Which is this Billy Joel tribute band tomorrow).
The OTHER concert series is Sunday nites all summer at Hoyt Farm.

We used to go all the time when I was a kid, Hoyt Farm is right around the corner from my parent's house.
They have lots of picnic tables that you can sit on or you can bring lawn chairs/blankets to sit near the front.
The band performs near the swingsets and the sandboxes, so most of the kids hang out there. There is usually a group of people dancing near the stage too.
You can also walk the grounds of the park and they have animals for the kids to see and a nature center. It's a great park.

so the play area is "open" while the concert plays, we can let the kids play while we listen? that would be ideal actually

Yes, it is not fenced in so it is always open.
They have the main playground which has been there since the beginning of time as well as a newer one (one of the handcapped accessable ones with the foam underneath).
Plus the kids can even play on the lawn, I would bring some toys.
