My co-worker had to give her ShihTzu to a shelter Update: he was adopted!!

I wish she would have told me earlier. So I could post it. She came into work hysterical crying. Her new apartment complex doesn't allow pets. Anyways he's at the Brookhaven Shelter(which is a KILL shelter) and his name is Max. He is trained to go on a wee-wee pad and is an absolute mush. He's around 16 mos. It just kills me that this dog is sitting there.

OMG, how sad. Is he 100% shih tzu? If so and he is hypoallergenic and likes other dogs, I can try beggin my DH.

Yes from what she said he is a purebred. She dropped his papers off with him

OMG, this poor dog! PLEASE post this anywhere you can...myspace...emails whereever...hopefully someone will go soon! Can she get him out and out him somewhere else...or ask around for someone she knows who may be willing to take the dog

save-a-pet in port jefferson saves dogs with great potential from brookhaven, maybe she can call them and see if they will adopt him

ets: i e-mailed the person that picks up the dogs there. i'm sure he'll find a home, he sounds like a great find, the poor baby

You can also try to find a local breed rescue that might save the pup from the kill shelter.

I am so sorry you are taking on the burden of this person's haste.

Don't worry. A small hypoallergenic dog that is young will be adopted very quickly.
It's the older dogs or larger dogs that don't get adopted easily.

Not my dog or my decision. Do I agree with it?? Was it a responsible decision?? Absolutely NOT! Just trying to save this dog. Nothing more I can do with a 4 yr old dog of my own and a 5 month old baby at home.....
