I haven't. I forgot the name of the site but you can check for violations online - maybe the state website?

There's also a free site to check and see if there are or have been any malpractice suits against particular MDs...if they were settled, etc.

I also forgot the name of that site, sorry. Maybe do a search.

You can go onto the AMA website to check out some info on doctors. There's also the NY state physician profile and NY state professional verification websites.

Those are the ones I use.

I work for a medical malpractice insurance company and I will say that the NY doctor profile site is not the most reliable.

The site does not take into account the suits and claims that are currently open. A doctor's profile might show no settlements or suits - but the doctor might have 1, 5 or even 10 open suits or claims.

Also I have noticed that some doctors also list no suits yet the doctor has had a couple of settlements or judgments that ended 1-3 years ago and are not listed.

The site is great however if you want to see where the doctor went to medocal school, where they did their residency, if they are board certified, etc.
