Why Oh Why are we thinking of what dog to get next? Suggestions....
I highly doubt we'll get a third(who knows though), but we are thinking of what to get after 1 or both of our furbabies are gone (ugly thought I know)
We have 1 child already and are planning on at least 1 more. We have a fenced yard. I'd love a smaller one but DH wants Med or Large size. Maybe one that doesn't shed much or at all since I'm a lazy housekeeper.
And We plan on rescuing, so any breeds you suggest will be considered as a "mix" or if we find a pure bred rescue dog in a shelter

We love our Boston Terrier. There are a number of BT rescues and the males tend to be bigger, above 20 lbs. They have a single coat so less shedding and easy, easy grooming -wash n' go.
I would add that although the breed is labeled as child friendly ANY rescue dog has to be screened for small children, even the most tempermental breeds.

cairn terrier (Toto)
westie
shetland sheepdog
australian shepard
border collie
boxer

Havanese are the best -- sweet, smart, funny, loving, hypoallergenic and nonshedding -- and absolutely adorable!

My mom had a Weimeraner, and I have to say, he was the best dog.
They are beautiful.
She is looking into getting a rescue soon.
Very smart dogs too.

First of all, I think it is great that you would rescue a dog, rather then buy one.
But, enjoy the time you have with your furbabies now. Don't think about them getting sick or going to the rainbow bridge. You have a great Rottie and a beautiful puggle. Enjoy them both!!!
BTW think carefully about a getting a third dog. Three dogs and a baby?? A lot of work. Good luck.

We found an adult Weimaraner and he looks absolutely adorable, plus he's good with other dogs and kids!
