My SIL just found out...
She is 5 1/2 weeks pregnant. Normally I would be jumping for joy but after just losing a pregnancy, I am so jealous. Don't get me wrong I am absolutely thrilled for them and so honored I am the only person she confided in about the pregnancy but I am so sad too. I keep thinking that as the oldest I was going to give my family their first grandchild and then I keep thinking how cute it would be to have our kids together and the same age. I am just so upset about this and its just making this miscarriage harder.
Thanks for letting me vent- its even harder that I can't tell anyone to share my feelings with other than DH who really doesn't get why I am so upset.

I'm so sorry!!! Men just don't understand how these things can really hurt us to the core. I'm sure you will feel upset over this for a while, and it's ok. It does not by any means mean that you are not happy for your SIL, so don't feel bad about feeling the way you do.

I to am the oldest and thought I'd be the "First"..Well, my sister and my SIL both had babies. I know my time will come and I hope it comes soon. I am so sorry about your loss. Please try and stay positive. Your time will come.

While this is a joyous event for your sister I can imagine that the news that she is pregnant couldn't come at a worst time for you. While I don't have a sister, I have three very close female friends of over 20 years. I always thought our kids would grow up together. It hurts that my kids, even if I'm pg now, will always be at a completely different developmental stage than they are. One of my friends has a 12 and 8 year old. For years I felt like I was the "odd woman" out because it took so long to find DH but now that I have him it seems odd that we are the only childless couple (not by choice) in our circle of friends. It is prefectly acceptable, normal and healthy to have selfish feelings right now. If you weren't saying, "Why not me?" I'd be worried about you. Keeep taking the time you need to grieve. What's so horrible about miscarriages is that so many couples go through the loss alone. Normally in death, our friends and family rally around us.
Like I told you in FM, I know so many women who conceived and delivered healthy babies right after they miscarried. I know its no consolation for your loss but you will have a baby soon

I know how you feel, as Im aproaching my 12 month of TTC, lets see my stepsister was PG, my 3 stepsister in laws are-had their baby allready, 2 of my coworkers both just announced. I just keep praying for my turn, and I figure it is contagious right? well it passed right over me

Thanks Girls- I have such mixed emotions right now and am trying to deal with them so when I see her this weekend I am nothing but joyful for her. I really needed you guys tonight.

Thanks Aga- I wish I could say its getting better but its been really rough. I had the hardest time being excited last night when I saw my SIL and hearing about all the early pregnancy stuff was horrible. I feel like such a bad person for not being happier for her.

What you are feeling is completely normal and by no means makes you a bad person. Stay strong and try to be positive! We're all here to chat if you ever need to vent.
