Who took a class to have their baby baptized???

I called my new church today to become a member and tell them that I am due in March and would like information on their baptism schedules. I was told that I would have to take a class before we can have the baby baptized!!!!Chat Icon

How long is the class??? Is it one day thing??? Any information would be helpful. Thanks!

Ours was a night thing - 2 hours. Very quick and we liked the Deacon running it. Oh - and I'm pretty much a heathen so it really wasn't bad at all.

We did too. It was at night, and it was about an hour long. It was really nothing. We watched an old video from the 70's, and they told us where to go that day and what would happen.

I do not have to take it again to Baptize baby #2.

We didn't have a 'class' but we did have to meet with the Father and the godparents to discuss what it means to be baptized and what their role is as godparents. Not too bad we were done in about an hour.

We had to have a "class". it was more the father explained what baptism is, how to chose godparents and went thru how the ceremony is run. It was a group thing. It wasn't too long and painless and you were allowed to bring the baby. oh - and it was nothing like a Pre Cana where you have to talk in front of others at all.
