any one know alot about credit...

2 years ago I transfered a balance from Jake's Discover card to one of my cards

well Jake just pulled his credit today at work and the charge is still on his credit report- as if it was never paid

I just called and my company is faxing us proof that I transfered the whole balance in March 2004

Jake said there is nothing he can do- that we are going to have to hire a lawyer just to fix Discovers mistake

that seems messed up to me- it was totally there fault-

any thoughts?

I believe if you have the proof that it was transferred, then you just dispute it with all three credit bureaus.

Call them, and maybe you can fax over the proof.

The should be able to delete it.

Edited b/c I forgot to add...Make sure you check the acct # that the transfer posted too. It's possible that it posted to someone elses acct. Maybe you were one number off or something.
