weight gain question
Did anyone gain weight after going off bcp? What about when on prenatals? This is my first full month off bcp and on prenatals (Citracal- calnate), and I have definitely gained weight! I feel and look gross and I don't know if it is a possible side effect, or if I have just gotten fat!!! It is like huge stomach bloat! Has this happened to anyone? TIA!

oh no....I am going off this month, and I was JUST thinking to myself, ohh, maybe I will lose weight.
The prenatals may have an adverse effect if they are "backing you up". Other than that, I am not sure!

I definitely gained weight, but I also quit smoking at the same time so I'm sure it's a combination of both or maybe even just the smoking. I didn't start prenatals right away so I don't think they had any effect on me. I started with CVS prenatals and they didn't bother me at all. Once I got my BFP I went on a RX prenatal and they "backed me up" for about a week and then I guess my body adjusted.

I went off BC in March. Within the first 2 weeks I had gained close to 15 pounds. I know my eating habits didnt change and that my workout routine was exactly the same!! After the first month, I lost about 9 of it (it looked like extreme water weight), but the remaining 6 lbs are just lingering!! I also started prenatals around the same time, but never thought that they might be why?
I have been doing a lot of research on this, and am finding that it's a really common issue when woman stop bc though!!!
This will definitely influence me from ever going back on bc!!!

I've been on weight watchers since the end of January, went off BCP's mid Febuary, I have lost almost 15 lbs since.
I haven't read that weight gain follows cessation of BCP's but I think any change in your body's chemistry could do that.

Oh no i am going off this month too, and i hoped i would lose weight too.

I also was hoping I would lose weight when I came off BC pills, but I also gained...

I def. gained and I hate it b/c there doesn't seem to be much I can do about it. I'm up 10lbs since the wedding (October) and I went off the pill in December. I don't even mind the number on the scale b/c I was probably underweight, but I am not happy with the way my clothes feel and I REFUSE to buy a new wardrobe. Besides the weight, I breakout more often which NEVER used to happen. Ahh, isn't great to be a woman?!

i wish i lost weight coming off bcp! it is really horrible that now the summer is coming and i feel like none of my clothes fit right. i have this extra lumpy belly
