Friends who are like family
Anybody have friends who are so close you consider them like family? Maybe they are your parents' best friends who you feel are like your aunt and uncle. Or kids who grew up with you who are like cousins. Maybe your best friend is like a sister or brother to you.
What do you call these people when introducing them to others? Do you intro them as your aunt, uncle, cousin? Or just by name?
I just got off the phone with my pseudo-aunt who is my mom's best friend and it made me think of this.
BTW, isn't it just great to have these people?

yes i have tons of these people probobly more than my own blood related relatives but i dont call them aunt and unle or cousins. i just introduce them by their name

well I have an Italian family, so all friends of the family is either aunt or uncle. 
I call them aunt and uncle when introducing as well.

I call them g-dparents. They have been friends iwth my grandparents since before my dad was born. Now that I lost all my grandparents, they are like grandparents to me.

My godmother is my mothers childhood friend.. call her Aunt Janis and her husband is Uncle Charles
Same with good friends of my parents-their family = aunt, uncle, cousins,
few others the same
Some people dont get it -even DH didnt understand how I had cousins who were not
cousins for real..but now he sees it-we are so close-they are family
PS_we are a big italian fam!

we have great friends that i hope we remain close with for the rest of our lives - We would have our kids call them aunt and uncle - just a respect thing
