Re: Satelite Radio

Not sure which is better - but DH has Siruis - Sportster Replay
DH loves it
Don't like that the backlight does not work after only having it a month. They are very good about the warranty though.
I think it was $140
And it was $159.45 for the whole year

Re: Satelite Radio

we have XM.
Its hard to say which is better, b/c they have different things. But, the reason we chose XM over Sirius was because XM has the ESPN channels, O&A, and all th MLB games. Sirius has the football games (though we wouldnt mind having that), Stern (we're not really into him), andprobably a couple of other things, too.
You could probably look up the Station listings for both to see which would fit your tastes more. b/c, from my Basic research b/w the 2, besides those factors that i said,,, everything else seemed pretty much the same.

we Love it!!! DH takes it with him b/c he's on the road all day, and when i'm driving i Hate even turning on the radio b/c its such a big difference (i.e- i Never hear any songs during my commute anymore). Then he brings it in every night, and we usually listen to O&A while we're doing things around the apartment (we got the boombox for it to be hooked up to).

we have a SkyFi.. it came with the car kit, and after rebates and a coupon that i had, i *think* it was about $60-$70.

We paid for 3 years all at once, so it came out to only $9.95/month.

Re: Satelite Radio

Being a big Howard fan, I'm a supporter of Sirius. But siriusly, aside from Howard I've tried both services and found Sirius to be better both musically and as far as talk is concerned. Don't get sucked into XM just for Oprah...she's only doing a half hour show once a week. You can watch her on TV an hour a day for free!

Re: Satelite Radio

Which is better? We have Sirius and DH loves it. I dont know which is better, I think its more prefernece of channels, they each have different things they offer, like oprah versus Howard...

Do you like it?
I dont like it, because I have no need for it, but DH loves it, I mean LOVES it, that he would sleep with it. We have had to turn around to go home and get it when we leave it at home, and he turns it on as soon as he gets home.. Also , he has the
sportster one" It alerst him when a games on he programs his teams on it.

What don't you like about it? The signal is lost once in a while, usually when we are out of state or if at home, for a few minutes when it rains.

How much was it? The Sportster Radio came with a car dock and it was $100 ( I think?) with a $50 rebate, and I got him the At home docking station to listen at home for $50 with a $25 rebate ( I got them at Radio shack_

How much is it monthly $12 -automatic debit

Re: Satelite Radio

I have sirus and LOVE it.
When I was deciding which to get all they had to tell me was ( and this was a 2 years ago, it could of changed) That XM was NOT all commercial free.. that tons of their stations had commercials and Sirius was ALL commercial free...
I pay 12 dollars a month
Nothing I dont like about it.
Have no clue how much it costs.. got it 2 years ago, cant remember.

i have to agree (though, we have XM). I always thought that Paying for the radio was silly, in theory, but there is Such a huge difference- its worth the money AND with free radio- you do get what you pay for (or 'dont' pay for.. you know what i mean) Chat Icon

Re: Satelite Radio

XM has MLB Radio and NHL. If he is into baseball... the MLB stations are pretty damm good.

I find myself listening to their main station... MLB Today all the time.

Re: Satelite Radio

I got DH Sirius for his B-Day. He really likes it.

I chose that because he is a Howard fan and kept whining about David Lee Roth in the mornings.

It's the portable car/house radio that plays through other radios. It was around $150, then I let him choose what "plan" he wanted (I think he got the 1 year to see if he would use it first.)

So far it's pretty cool!

Re: Satelite Radio

I have XM and I LOVE it. DH had it before I got it- so I am an add-on to his account. I think its $10.95 a month for him, and an additional $5 a month for me. I cant say which one is better b/c I've never had or listened to Sirius radio. What I really like about it is, that DH got me the Home kit- so I can listen to it in the car, and then bring it in the house with me. I have the SkiFi 2 and I love it!!

Re: Satelite Radio

I love my XM Radio! It has many great sations and it's only $13 per month. There is nothing I dislike about it. We tarvel to VA. a lot and XM has def. made it a smoother ride, I don't have to worry about losing the stations. Chat Icon
