Re: Breast Pump...
I have the Ameda Purely Yours and it works great for me
I soley pump and it has been doing the job. I also bought the Mother's Milkmate containers and pump right into them and store them away.
I use the Dr. Brown's bottles because DS has gas issues

Re: Breast Pump...
I was referred to the Medelas. I did have one on my registery but have removed it. It is very possible that you will be able to get a prescription for a pump from your doctor. If you are still pumping after that, you can always go and get a pump. They usually aren't returnable so you want to make sure you get the one you need.

I have the Ameda Purely Yours and the Medela Pump in Style. If you plan on returning to work these are the 2 top recommended ones. My son uses Dr. Brown's bottles also.

Re: Breast Pump...
my two cents, as someone who only pumps and has done for 5 months, wait and see. I would rent a hospital pump for the first while and then decide on which pump I would want to own.
I have been renting a Medela Symphony pump for the last 5 months and I pump 30oz a day, its a great pump. I recommend one with the Dual Phase Expression.
