FYI! INFO ON THE NEW PS3!!!
DH is in the industry....
Pricepoint for the 20 gig will likely be around $500
60 gig will likely be around $700!!
Also, initial release quantites are going to be VERY LOW!!!
do they think people will actually PAY that??

yes ma'am. As with anything new....it'll have it's quirks (umm....Xbox 360 had a HUGE issue with systems freezing up--just happened to MY DH and he is p' OD).
I'd wait awhile for any kinks to be worked out and for the price point to drop. If you know anyone that absolutely HAS to have it THIS holiday season....
ENSURE they go reserve it at a GameStop or EB GAmes (same company now) and get the protection plan.

I agree...there is no reason in the world to have something like that when it's going to have problems and I can assure you, game title releases will be pushed back as well....just like with the 360.

there are some differences then just the hard drive for the PS3, also its 599, not 699
This is merely more then a gameing console as it also serves as a Blu-Ray Player (HD DVD - the next new big thing).
Sony is going out on a limb and pimping this thing out blowing away 360... it will be intresting to see what happens.
Will I buy one, of course, saving credits just to snatch up as many of these as possible as quantites will be limited. check out local game stores to preorder

No matter what the cost, people will still buy it 
Your best bet is to reserve a system with a down payment or something. I all ready know Im going to get stuck buying this system for Christmas

Frankly after getting a PSP (which is a portable video game unit)... I don't think I will EVER buy another home video game system again.
My PSP is so worth its value compared to these $700 video game systems.
- It plays video games obviously (and very well)
but it also doubles as
- portable mp3 player
- portable movie/dvd player
- portable computer/pda (to an extent)
I can pretty much download episodes of any sitcom or any movie I want and upload it to my PSP and watch it on my train ride.
I am currently going through Star Trek Enterprise Season 4. I already watched 40yr old virgin, Family Guy: The Movie, and Star Wars on it.
After I am done with Enterprise... I might throw some Law and Orders or CSIs on there that I haven't seen.
It soooooo kills the time on the train.

What is the deal with Twilight Princess? It is a GCN game that has enhanced capabilities on the Wii, or is it a Wii game?
ETA: I'm such a Nintendo person. Through and Through. FH likes Plasystation, but not at 700 bucks. I thought the PS2 at $250 when I bought it was a lot. At least on the Wii, we'll have games we both like.
However, I do love 2 PS franchises...Kingdom Hearts and Katamari Damashi....and I think they BOTH belong on Nintendo.

I heard on a business show yesterday (forgot which one) that it will be $500 and $600.
YES, I think people will pay it. At first I was screaming, but then I realized that if I can get it for DH, I will.
