Here's my first question...

Please excuse my ignorance and inexperience....however I never gave all this much thought until now....

I understand that there is only a small window of time a month that you can get pregnant. Is it just on the day you ovulate or is a few days before/after ovulation? How does it work?

I'm usually a 28 or 30 day cycle - the first day of my last period was 12/20 - so does that mean I could be ovulating this weekend? Also I get sore boobs and emotional when I ovulate rather than before my period. Is that common?

I just put those dates into the website babycenter and heres what it says..

Based on your answers, you're likely to be most fertile from Saturday, December 31, 2005 to Thursday, January 5, 2006. If you were to get pregnant during that time, your due date would be Tuesday, September 26, 2006.

Its the couple days before you Ovulate and the day off that your most fertile.
Sperm can live for about 48 hours inside you so its wise to start TTC BEFORE you Ovulate.
I think its something like 13 to 15 days before your period is your fertile time..
There are tons of websites like Babycenter that can help you..

Also, the ovulation predictor kits come in handy becuase they let u know the day before you ovulate.

I'm on the same cycle as you..almost. CD 1 was 12-19. My most fertile days should be from tonight to 1/3. How does your cervical mucouse look-abundant? Clear? Stretchy?
