Can you determine sex at 12 weeks?
Of course I am so impatient and go to doctor next Tuesday at 12 weeks. Is it too early to determine the sex?

Yup, I think its way early, I was told not before 18 weeks. I am going for my second level and that when I will find out!

omg that is so funny i am going next tuesday and i will be 12 weeks...i have read "parts" start developing at this stage but are not clearly either gender until about 15 weeks  so i guess us impatient mothers have to wait a bit longer ...im glad im not the only impatient one!!!!! lol its killing me all day that is all i think ? ?

Our sono tech speculated that she could tell at 11 weeks because the baby had its legs spread apart  but we quickly had to tell her we want it to be a surprise.....She then told us it wouldn't be 100% accurate but she had an idea from looking at the sono and from her experience.
I wonder if they can really tell that early!! She seemed to think so....

Yes i found out at 14 cause i work with sono techs who have scanned me weekly since i was 6 weeks!! Just hang in there a little longer!

you CAN, but it's pretty inaccurate. My sono tech told me she HAS been able to tell at 12 weeks. You could TRY but most drs don't like that early of a predicition!

I heard if the tech can tell at 12 weeks, they can only tell you boy for sure.

That's interesting, now im really wondering!!! hmmmm lol....Well, the sono tech said it was a girl - then said what do you both want - so we said a healthy baby - and that we want to be surprised to not tell us....so i don't know if she was joking with us or what, but the next time we go in for our sono im going to be sure to first say " Don't tell us the sex".
Those crazy sono techs!

when i had my daughter i was early i think like 10 weeks and they told me it looked like a boy...my later sono at 17 wks definate girl...they say the female parts look like male parts in beginning stages of development.
