Whats Your Holiday Party Like At Work?
ours this year was ok.
we had it AT work which was the boring part.
our chef made special appetizers for us then we all ordered whatever we wanted.
we ate and drank all night for free. our spouses included.
and then we got a bottle of Jameson each.

We always have a half day before we go on Christmas break, so in the morning, we have our huge holiday concert, then in the afternoon, we go to the headmaster's house and we have a catered lunch, we do this huge finale to our secret santa(which is like the best thing out of the whole year, it's so involved!), then everyone drinks a little, then gets a sent off with a really nice bottle of champagne from the Board of Trustees. It's actually really nice and everyone always has so much fun. I love the people I work with (well, for the most part!)

mine was at my work place too but in a different annex to the main office.
We had Karoke, we were allowed only two drinks per person but they hooked me up with three
We also had the giant chair to take pictures, there was a lot of food, raffles, we got an umbrella as a gift.
besides that we all got a bonus.

Ours was fun. We have it at a restaurant. It is free to all employees but if you want to bring your spouse you have to pay. So no one brought there significant others. We had a DJ and it was nice.

Well our immediate department has a luncheon at a restaurant, but it's the type of thing where everyone eats whatever they want and we all split the bill. Then we have one at the office where everyone makes a dish and we exchange secret santa gifts. Then there about 4 or 5 other luncheons hosted by the different buildings (or branches, I guess you could call them) that take place in the offices. The unions also do parties at local bars/halls.

Our's is pretty awesome. It's at our corporate headquarters, and they go all out. I'm talking themed rooms (like the Star Wars room, the mob room, the 70's room....) and every room has it's own type of food. One room will have all sushi, one room will be an old fashioned ice cream parlor with ice cream sundaes, shakes, etc., one room will be chinese takeout (complete with little takeout boxes). They'll have piles and piles of shrimp, king crab claws, all the desserts you could possibly want to eat....
Oh and of course they have an open bar in every room!
Outside they have huge heated tents set up where there's more food and live entertainment.
The only downside is that it's SUPER crowded and really hard to move. This year I didn't go, but DH did (he and I work for the same company). I went to a party that they for the satellite offices, and it wasn't nearly as good. Oh well!

They do something similar for the summer picnic, except it's all outside and they have carnival games and stuff.....

ours was Wednesday at Oheka Castle.
the band was AMAZINGLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dance floor was packed ALL NIGHT! you couldn't even move, let alone get a drink at the bar!!  it was like being at the HOTTEST nightclub in town!!!

we had ours 2 weeks ago...dinner at this awesome place called Napa Valley Grill. THen we went to see the Lion King at the Providence Performing Arts Center
THis week, we have our cookie exchange on Tuesday, and our work party on Wednesday, where we all bring a dish, do our secret santa exhange and open our stockings...
OH..and we got our bonus on the 15th!~

Some of you have such nice parties!!! WOW!
Ours was at an Irish pub on Tuesday....it was okay. Lots of drinks and minimal appetizers. No wonder we were all so drunk - we barely ate! In the years past it was at Bowlmor which I hated. There was a small bunch of us that didnt bowl so we stuck together by the bar. Overall very boring! We had finger foods there too.

mine was dec 3rd (sat nite). it was at some hall in the city, 24 5th..it was very nice, food was a buffet dinner, but it was very good...
i danced the whole nite

my work party is bland, just lunch with everyone at a restaurant, my hubby's is always good, it's at night. always at a country club, with good music, and lots of drinking!

We just have a big lunch at a restaurant...
It was great at my old law firm, they had a huge party every year at a really nice catering hall or museum... I miss that!
