My 40 week Not in Labor Appointment
Well baby still looks good on the NST's which is always good news to me. I kind of stress a little between appointments.
My midwife checked me and I was 1&1/2cm and 50% effaced which really is NO progress in my mind since I was 1cm at 37 weeks. At 37 weeks the other midwife said I was 75% effaced. So I asked about that and she said its kind of a subjective guess with effacement and it can feel different depending on the baby's head. Oh well. I really was hoping that I would at least be 2 or more after 3 weeks but NO!!
She said she stripped my membranes a little but doesn't think its going to send me into labor. She is of the opinion that your body will just do it when it's ready which I kind of believe too so I don't plan on trying all kinds of crazy things to get this baby out other than walking and some squats to hopefully help the baby's head engage a little more. Right now its a -2 station.
So anyway the plan is that if I don't go into labor I have an appointment Monday around noon at which time they'll schedule an induction sometime between Monday night and Wednesday.
Please Please send me labor vibes because I really don't want to be induced especially because my cervix hasn't progressed much. I am pretty afraid of a c-section and worry an induction would end that way.
ETA: Why in god's name to you guys want to be checked at each visit. That was several minutes of holy hell!!!

I hate internals!!
My DR does them at every visit..it makes me so mad!!
Well hopefully while she was "there" today, she'll of loosened things up and labor will start!!!

At my 39 week appointment I was 0 cm, 50% effaced. One week later I was 3 cm, 80% effaced. So it can happen quickly - you never know. Of course, I was STILL induced and STILL ended in a c-section so I'm not a great example!!

good luck! i dont know the morning i had my son i went the dr for a reg. checkup the dr said no you have made no progress go home eat, shower, come back after dinner to be induced.....well i get home made lunch and that was it i was doubled over in pain ....went back to the hospital and a few hours later delivered my son.....it can happen quick
