Tipping furniture delivery people?
We are getting our bedroom set delivered tomorrow and I was wondering how much to tip the delivery people. There was no delivery charge, just a charge for the furniture and tax. Please disregard the poll, I hit enter before I finished.

Re: Tipping furniture delivery people?
I always tip the guys. We tipped our guys 20 bucks for delivering and setting up our bedroom furniture.

I think we gave 10 to each guy, both for Gothic Cabinet and JC Penney Home.

Re: Tipping furniture delivery people?
We usually give $5 each.
ETA: I sound really cheap! Actually, for the couch we had 2 guys and gave them $5 each. Same with the washer. I guess I would give more if it was a set.

Ditto - we gave $10 to each guy for Seigerman's, JC Penny, and PC Richards.

Re: Tipping furniture delivery people?
Gave $10 to the guys who deliverd our dining room set. DH said it took them 10 minutes.
The guys who did my gutters took about 3 hrs and 4 guys and we tipped $20.
So it averages out to $5/pp.
I'm a pretty generous person but you have to stop somewhere!

Re: Tipping furniture delivery people?
unless they go above and beyond...nope...
i was going to tip $50 to the delivery people if they brought baby furniture to the 2nd floor even though the arrangement "forbid" them to do so. needless to say, only one guy showed up who couldn't even get it inside to the 1st floor as promised, so the furniture sat in the garage. ummm, no tip there!
