36 Week tonight...is it my internal?
I am assuming that tonight is my internal exam and Strep B test. What is it like? Does it hurt? Hopefully my Dr. can shed some light on what this baby is doing and how big he/she is!

I have had 2 internals because of pain and cramping and its not pleasant but not unbearable. I am only 32 weeks though so I am not sure how it will feel at 36 weeks.

strep b is usually in week 37, that is when they usually start internals, so maybe at nexy week's visit.

My Dr. started my internals at 36 weeks...I guess it depends on your Dr.

Depends on the doctor - my doctor did the strep B test at 36 weeks (doesn't hurt one bit - a little swab) and she started internals at my 38 week appointment. That felt like a little pressure, but not nearly as bad as a regular pap smear (in my opinion). Basically, I wouldn't worry about it. I found it to be totally fine and I had no pain, cramping or bleeding after.

I just called and they said YEP...be prepared for an internal....
Thanks everyone! Let's hope they have some good news like "hey...your baby wants to come early!" Wishful thinking huh?

I had my appointment yesterday,
and had a stress b test and internal.
not fun but not that bad either,
really quick - thank goodness.
All seems good!!
baby is right position etc.

i made my next 4 appointments,
its going to be crazy goine every week, especially with work, trying to get the correct appointment, I had to make 2 morning appt too!!

its going to be crazy goine every week, especially with work, trying to get the correct appointment, I had to make 2 morning appt too!!
When is your last day at work? I'm aiming for August 12...but I commute 2+ hours each way and I don't know if I can make it that long!! I can't believe we're almost there!!!!!!!!!! I'm getting so EXCITED!!! I keep tearing up when I think about it.

Well Lucky my commute is not that long usually 35-45 minutes by car!!!
So I am planning on working up until my little bean arrives!!!
I am pretty busy at work now, bc we have our golf outing in 2 weeks, so my boss is a nervous wreck,
but I am convinced this baby is not going to come early....
I can't believe its almost over, it went so quick...

It definitely depends on the doctor. My doctor never did a single internal. He did the strep B at 36 weeks and then he'd just check my cervix quickly to see the progress. I had actually been a bit concerned because he hadn't, but I had people reassure me that it was normal.

Had the internal and strep B test. OUCH for the internal!! He said "I feel a head, but you are all closed up!"
I was very tense so I"m sure that's why it hurt!
