Spinoff to my NFR Accident post: Can I still use his car seat?
I thought I read that if you get into an accident you should get a new car seat.

I would get a new one. Also when dumping the old one, I would write in black magic marker that it's been in a car accident.

Some insurance policies cover a new car seat when your car has been in an accident.

I work for a car insurance company and they will pay for it along with your damages.. so let them know! Hope you feel better!

You are supposed to get a new car seat. Check with your insurance company. My friends got brand new ones coverd by her insurance when she was in an accident.

Wow, good idea. I'd never have thought of that, so that someone doesn't take it from the curb and use it.

I thought that I heard that they changed the rule on that and that if you are in an accident if you get the carseat inspected they can tell you whether you should get a new one or that you can still use the one that was in the car.
