IVF Drugs

I attempted an IVF procedure last year. Unfortunately it didn't work BUT we are trying again in March Chat Icon

I have these IVF drugs that I didn't use (Bravelle, Repronex, and some others) and they are going to be expiring soon. I know how much these drugs cost and wanted to know if anyone knew of a donation program where I could donate legally.

I luckily started a job in New Jersey recently where my insurance is mandated and they have to offer IVF thru insurance. My husbands insurance picks up the med's. THANK GOD! We got lucky so I won't need this medication.

Thanks for any information.

Did you check with your insurance company directly? I live and worked in NJ...and according to my policy, even though the state mandates IVF coverage, the type of medical policy my company had, didn't require them to abide by the state mandates....so no IVF coverage for me. If you haven't already checked, you should....good luck! Baby Dust!

Re: IVF Drugs

The rule is - New Jersey Mandates insurance carriers that provide pregnancy–related benefits to cover comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of infertility, including assisted reproductive technology procedures, but limits attempts to four complete oocyte (egg) retrievals per lifetime. Insurance carriers are not required to provide this benefit to businesses (group policies) of 50 or fewer employees.

My employer has over 100 employees. I called the insurance company so many times confirming (out of excitementand nervousness) they probably had my voice memorized! lol
