Dear sellers,

If you are selling a house that has a basement, I have one suggestion for you: dehumidifier.

That is all.

Sincerely,
Tired of visiting damp, stinky basements

We run ours constantly. But our basement is so big, and I think we need a bigger one because although it works okay, it doesn't work as well as it should.

Re: Dear sellers,

The house we're buying comes with one already hooked up to empty outside!

Re: Dear sellers,

I had one that had an adjustable level on it that allowed you to choose how dry you wanted the room, like a thermostat. Once the room hit a certain humidity, it would turn off and them turn on again when needed.

i have one that I can set at what humidity I want it to turn off, or I can choose to have it run every 4 hours or every 6 hours. My only problem is I do not have a drain in my basement, so I have to empty it all the time. Thankfully it shuts off when full, but Even if I let it go a day or two without emptying, the smell is back.

So far it has worked out for me to set it at what humidity level I want to down (I choose as little as possible)

I also have the kitty litter box in the basement, if the dehumidifier is running, it even keeps that fresh smellingChat Icon
