For the moms that started ceral at 4 months
where did you feed them if you gave it with a spoon? Did you put the highchair together or did you give it to them in their bouncy seat?

we did it in the swing and bouncy seat since she couldn't sit up very well. We started with the high chair at 5 months. You want them to be able to hold their head up and sit up in the high chair otherwise they slump to one side

High chair for both of my boys. They held their heads up pretty well at 4 months. You could use the bouncy seat, too.

We did it in the bouncer at first and then probably by 5 months she was in the highchair since she was trying to sit up in the bouncer seat.

We first tried the cereal and spoon in her car seat with a towel over it (so she wouldn't get it dirty) - a few weeks later we went out and bought the high chair and she loved it because she was able to sit up straight (i wish i would of had it sooner).

Ryan could hold his head pretty good but for abt a month I kept him on my lap. I could control his hands easier. I tucked one behind me & held the other.

She's been in the highchair since she started eating at 4 1/2 mos. Ours has a recline feature, but as I recall, she was holding her head up pretty nicely then.

the highchair, he has always been pretty strong. When we were out we used the bumbo, but it was hard for him to take sips of his bottle inbetween bites because he couldn't lean back.

Thanks everyone. I guess DH is in the clear for putting together the highchair. It does recline but that is just one more thing we have to put away when we show our house to potential buys. I can't wait to start him next week I am so excited. He stares at our food now when we eat.
