What's the best book for first time expectant mother?

I just found out early in the week that I'm pregnant...(yay), and I was wondering what's the pregnant woman's bible nowadays?

I know my friend's who were pregnant five years ago used What To Expect When Your Expecting...

I just found out I am preggo too! I heard that What to expect when you are expecting is a good book but it often is quite scary to read.

I recently picked up "I'm Pregnant" by Lesley Regan. Its a book that tells you "what to expect at every stage of pregnancy", "guides you through each emotional and physical change" and "how to nurture your baby during hte six weeks after birth"

SO far, I reallllly like it.

I read the Girllfriends Guide to Pregnancy- which is a great first book to read.

I am also reading Your Pregnancy Week by Week - which is pretty great.

I haven't really liked any ofthe books so far. I started What to Expect and Girlfriends Guide, but lost interest in both.

I'm 25 weeks and I love What to expect when your expecting. I don't find it scary....Just if you have any question to be scared to ask you OB

I have a few but my fave is your pregnancy week by week. Even on my third kid, I still love it.

along with girlfriends guide. the what to expect when your expecting was boring.

I have "What to Expect", and "Girlfriend's Guide", but I really like "Pregnancy Week by Week" the best. It has about 8-10 pages to read for each week, so it is short enough to keep your interest, and it tells you about the changes in you and in the baby, each week along the way. I just use the "What to Expect" as a reference in case I want to look something up. I didn't find it scary, just very boring to read.

I have What to expect when your expecting and Your pregnancy week by week as well.. I use the first one for specific questions, (ie nausea, dizziness, growing pains, etc). The second one I love reading whats going on with me and my baby... I am on baby #2, and still using both!

Your Pregnancy Week by Week
Belly Laughs
The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy

The best was the week by week guide rather than What to Expect because it obviously gave you info week by week and the other book was month by month. I laughed so hard with belly laughs and the girlfriend's guide.
