I am scared ( updated)

I know this may not be on the right board- not sure where it would go but just need to vent:

I am 35 and we have been ttc for a bit now.
I have a history of fibroid cysts in my breasts and had them sonogrammmed in 03 after going to a breast specialist. All was well.

Latley they have been bothering me and they are kind of sensitve and they hurt a little when you press o them.

I went to the gyno Saturday and he told me that my breasts are very dense, he felt them and sent tme to get a new sonogram done.

So today I went to the imaging place and the radiologist was all chatty and friendly doing my right one when she started to do my left one ( the more tender one) sje stopped talking and was punching in all this stuff to the monitor.

I asked her what was up and she told me to try to relax and focused intensley on the screen.
Now I am a bag of nerves.

Has anyone ever had this????

Thanks again everyone!UPDATE: THanks for all the kind words - I was petrified. I spoke to my dr. and he said that my sonogram showed benign looking cysts as he expected with my dense breasts my age &for me not to worry.
I feel SO much better :jump

I've never had that, but it does sound really scary. Did they tell you when they will have results back?

Thanks- i am trying to relax but am petrified!
She told me that my Dr. would have the results back by today or tomorrow.

I am flying out for work tomorrow night .

Try to stay positive, even though I understand it's easier said than done. A lot of times technicans and nurses get us all worked up when it isn't necessary and I'm sure they didn't mean to.

I recently had a sono to look at my liver, kidneys, etc due to some elevated levels in my blood work and she did the same thing. She was all chatty and then when she asked me to flip to look from my back she got quiet and typed a bunch of stuff in....it turns out everything was normal - she was just having a hard time "seeing" what she was supposed to be photographing for whatever reason.

I do hope everything is fine with your tests!!!

I had the same experience as you in 05. I was pretty much crying the whole time and when i would ask questions she would go around them not answering. Then I read a sign on the wall it said pretty much that the imaging techs are not allowed to talk medically about what they are seeing which makes sense because you should only listen to what the doctor has to say. Please don't be scared I know that is easy to say but what helped me around that time was talking with my husband and having a nice glass or two of wine! One nice big hug out to you skygirl.

I just went for my first mammo and they called me back for addt'l testing. Had another mammo than a sonogram(which I didn't know about). I was nervous as heck especially lying there and what was probably 5 minutes of silence and her typing and going over the same area over and over felt like forever. In the end...looks like all is a-ok.
I know the waiting part can be torture...

I am so sorry you are uneasy and scared. I hate 'waiting' and "not knowing" but just like the other posters have said,...technicians don't give out much information. It's one of the reasons I was so disatisfied with my last RE clinic. The doctors never did the u/s and you just laid there as some tech did it. Some wouldn't say a word, it is such an odd feeling.

My prayers are with you !!!! I hope this turns out to be nothing !

Don't fret,she just chatted up a bit in the beginning to relax you..after that,she had to do her job.
I rather that the tech be precise with her work than my "friend". Keeping my fingers crossed for good news.

OK, I just went through this...I found a small lump and immediately went to check it out...the lady, who didn't really speak English that well was "joking" around with me and then fell silent and kept going to the same area over and over again while typing and zooming in...FREAKED ME OUT...

Then the doc called and referred me to a breast surgeon because they found two hard "nodules"...Long Story short, there was only one and it was a cyst and I am fine...

You can't worry about the techs...that's why they aren't doctors...they don't know all the time.
