from condo to house

For those of you who went from living in a condo/coop to a house...how different was it? Condo living is so easy, no maintence really involved. Was it a big adjustment owning your own house? Did it take up a lot more time? I know the expenses are a lot more....

we went from a ranch style townhouse-attached on one side to a single family house. It is a VERY big difference, not sure what your community provides but ours did everything, cleaned gutters, mowed grass, trimmed hedges, turned over flower beds at the end of season, removed snow & more. Now we do all of that & it does take alot of time, of course we could hire a lawn service to do some of it but that is money we would rather not spend. We didn't think of it as itemized costs in the townhouse. We also needed to buy lawn/yard tools. The plus side is we really love our privacy & freedom to do whatever landscaping we want.
