Oh yeah!! They are all using Katrina as an excuse to increase the prices on gas that they got delivered to their tanks previous to today
Check your tire pressure to make sure they are properly inflated and slow down that all helps to conserve gas.
I also see that's for full serve. I only do self-serve for that reason.

We just went to dinner. When we drove by the gas station I said 2.61 for regular. Im gonna stop on my way home!
When we came out less then an hour later the regular at the same station was 2.97 
Needless to say I DIDNT STOP THERE!

there was an article in cnn about it... 10% of the nation's refining capabilities have been damanged due to Katrina.
They said that for sure gas will go up to $3 by the weekend- although I'd say that Astoria Gas Station is price gauging and a complaint should be made against them...

I wish we could see that again- but I doubt it will happen... I wouldn't be surprised if we never see under $2 a gallon again... what people don't understand is the more and more China and India industrialize- the higher gas prices are going to be... it has nothing to do with how much oil the Arab countries can pump or whether or not we can drill in Alaska- those are quick fixes only.
However- I'm sure tomorrow we'll hear about price gauging on the news- that's BS how fast it happened....
I'm lucky DH works from home and I take the Path for $3 a day!!!
