Newsday Article on Femara

Article

I know some of you have taken Femara, so I thought I would share this. It's just for information, and not meant to start anything.

Baby Dust to all of you!

Re: Newsday Article on Femara

Every time you get the prescription of femara, it clearly states, that it should not be taken if pregnant. I am not sure how it will contribute to birth defects if taken prior to pregnancy to help ovulation.

However, it figures this would be published. That leaves couples with only the choice of clomid or injectibles.

Re: Newsday Article on Femara

Like Michelle said it is only taken for a short period of time and in a small dosage in lieu of Clomid.
So you are only taking it for 5 days, NOT when you have a fetus growing inside.

Im still somewhat concerned because there havent been studies performed in great detail on what happens to the children who are born after women use the femara. The main studies are about follicle growth and pregnancy rates.

My pharmacist was even reluctant to give me the femara the first month I was on it, She called and spoke to my Dr. and then I got the RX, but the first few minutes, she said, " this shouldnt be taken" by non menapausel women".

I dont know how I feel, but since I havent been responding to it anyhow. If my cycle fails this month, I may request a switch to Clomid.
