How do you know you married the right person?

After having dinner with friends the other night, I started thinking. How did you know, and how do you still know?

I met my husband when I was a bridesmaid in his sister's wedding party. On the way home, I knew that was the man I was going to marry. I can't explain how I knew, I just knew.
Today is our 30th wedding anniversary and I still know this is the one and only for me. After all these years, I couldn't picture myself with anyone else, and, honestly, I couldn't from the first time I met him. If I am lucky, I will be blessed with another 30 years with him

I know it sounds really corny, but....

the minute I looked into his eyes, I knew. I was involve with someone at the time. I looked over to my friend, and said, "Thats the man I want to marry".

Because at the age of 33 I already went out with every other heterosexual (and I think a few gay) men in the tri-state area. DH was the last man standing

There's so many reasons...too many to list.... to sum it all up...I just know he IS the one.

I knew he was the person for me because he was the one of the first guys I couldn't walk all over. (I know sounds like true love, right? ).

I don't know how I know, but I knew the night I met him I was destined to marry him. I am an extremely logical person, but on this one, I have to say, I really think it's just meant to be. I could go on listing all his wonderful personality traits, but guess what, a million other men have them. It's just something I feel deeply rooted within the two of us that we are meant to be together.

Ahhh... the quintissential question. I had been in two long term relationships before DH (actually, longer than my marriage!) and though I thought about marriage then, there was always some kind of hesitation. The night I met DH, it was unlike any other meeting I had with anyone. After the second date, I said something that I never said in my life - "I'm going to marry that boy". Quite simply I have never loved anyone so much. I can not really describe my love for him in words. I also have a belief that my mom found this great guy for me right before she passed. Furthermore, I feel this safeness and comfort around him that I never felt with anyone else.

I think I had a calmness come over me that I never quite felt before. I wasn't stressed or anxious in dating him. It just "fit". It worked. I didn't need to overthink or analyze. It was pure with good pure foundations and intentions. Our meeting was tender and sweet. I had not had that before.

I think there is always some amount uncertainty in any relationship...But if it feels right you never know until you try!

it felt right and I could actually picture myself having a future with him.

I knew quite early on but he showed the true measure of a man as he sat with me for months at my father's hospital bedside. He was chivalrous to state his intentions to my older brother as he asked for his permission in place of my father (which I did not know until AFTER we got engaged).

my DH is a good honest man. I knew from day one he would love me unconditionally, he is just a really good person and that is what attracted me to him.

I just knew in my heart that he was sent to me by my guardian angel (Greg, my former fiance who passed away) to be my angel here on earth because he would ALWAYS love and take good care of both my daughter and myself and that he has done!!!!!!!
