those that use a sound machine, where did you purchase it from and what kind is it?

Homedics....walmart.com for $20 5 sounds, 3 time intervals (15, 30 and 60 min)

A really cheap option that my sister used (before white noise machines were so prevalent) was to tape the vacuum cleaner.

We have a Timex that is a sound machine, radio and CD player. Jesse received it as a gift for his 1st birthday, but I know they sell them at Bed, Bath and Beyond or Linens-N-Things (and they both have coupons too). We use it when the A/C or humidifier isn't on. We are planning on getting CAC soon so we'll be using it even more often.

we have a homedics alarm clock that has white noise (it's actually called waterfall i think). when we used to use it i would keep it on all night.

When Emily was a little baby we used to run a CD with rain and rushing water sounds on repeat on the CD player.
We got the CD for like $4.99 at Target.
