I am just not feeling the holiday season...

I never do...and it's so hard because it's everywhere. Plus this year for Christmas and Thanksgiving we are at my in-laws. I told my Mom today I would just like to fast forward to Jan.2nd!

Anyone else get like this? I mean, I like the decorations and the gift giving spirit, but it's all just too much and overwhelming to me. I do NOT think the music has to be on 106.7 24/7 since mid-November. I am really sick of people going broke just to keep up with the Joneses. And I watched the video online today of people being trampled at Wal-Mart to get in the store at 5am....

it's all just toooooo much!!!

same here, I just don't have good memories but I'm trying to chnge for my daughter.

i don't really even know if it's caused by memories or anything....maybe because my family struggled when i was growing up so Christmas wasn't always the best...I don't know.

I used to feel like you did too. With my parents divorced and hating each other with a passion, holidays ALWAYS suxed. I would have to run from place to place and never get to relax and enjoy them. Now DH and I have started our own and it has made all the difference in the world. Have you thought about doing that with your DH? Maybe you could host the holidays so that your IL's and your parents could all come to you?

I am always in the holiday spirit normally but this year I am not at all. This is the first year without my dad so it's very hard and I am sure the holidays will never be the same

I like the actual holidays themselves-the day of, spending it with family, but I hate all the "pre" stuff. I HATE the shopping, the commerical aspect of it, all that nonsense. I also don't like that the Christmas music is on by mid November, like you said. I don't know, I feel like peopel are overstressed around this time of year, it's not relaxed and peaceful like it should be.
