What kind of bottles do you/did you use for your newborn?

I started using the Avent bottles with the size one nipples on them, but they basically are choking poor Ava because they flow so fast. Anyone have any suggestions for slower flowing nipples?

I use Dr Brown and they have all sizes of nipples..

Dr. Brown's and Miranda did well with their stage 1 nipples. I'm just trying to remember if there was something before stage 1 that we used.

I had the same problem with the Avent bottles. Alyssa hated them. They would choke her all the time. We switched to the playtex system, but she only likes the brown latex nipples slow flow. She chokes on the clear silicone ones.

I used Gerber premie nipples. Then I switched to AVent premie and she still uses Avent.

I love Dr. Brown's!!!!!!!!! They have been a life saver!!! I bought the deluxe set and it came with all different size nipples and bottles.

Avent with both boys. I didn't find that the size 1 nipples had a "fast" flow. Maybe it's just because my boys are piggies.

I thought Avent had a premie nipple with a slower flow.

Hayley started out on Playtex nursers (clear nipple) she did fine. After 2 months we switched her to Dr Brown's level 1 nipples and no problems...

I used Avent and Playtex Ventaire's interchangably and never had any issues.

I started w/ Avent but DD was too gasy. I swithced to Dr. Browns and have been happy with them ever since.

Advent has a nipple that has just one hole and I think it is 0M on the package not sure though and then the next is 2 holes which is still considered slow. I also use the Playtex nurser with the slow nipple. Those are a little slower than the Advent but if I did notice that once the milk filled the nipple cavity of the advent bottles he was able to adjust the flow.

Another fan of Dr. Brown's, we used level 1, I just switched her to level 2(she's 3 months).

I had the same problem with Avent. I didn't know there was a preemie nipple, I would probably have just used that. I use Dr. Brown's and its great, love them. She had no problems with the flow.

We use Dr. Browns too. He refuses the advent bottles now.

Big Dr Browns fan here. At Victorias Baptism all of the moms had Dr Browns and we were all raving about them.................

We used the playex nursers and I have to say that I have always been very happy with them. Emily spit up more with th dr. browns when she was little and we tried them.

I had the same problem with DS. I used Avent at first and they make a premie nipple. I used that for a little bit and then switched to Dr. Brown's level 1--he was then ready for them. I love Dr. Browns!!

I started with evenflo because it was the easiest bottle for storing BM when I pumped. After a couple of weeks though we switched to Playtex nurser with the disposable liners. They were the best. No air so no gas. Plus the clean up was so easy because the liners were disposable. Personally I didn't like Dr. Browns. If you fill them up too much they leak, hard to clean and she actually got gas when she used them.

Every baby is different with bottles. You have to find which bottle works best for your baby.

Dr Browns here (switched from Playtex nursers and Vent Aire) and her gas got better....the stage 1 nipple that the bottles comes with was great until she wanted more and faster. We switched her at 5 months (oops) and alot of her gas disappeared

We always used Advent with #1 nipple until about 4months.
