Advice needed
I just don't know how to put aside all the anxiety I'm feeling about giving birth. I know that everyone goes through it and that helps me a little, but I just can't seem to relax. I'm due Monday and if I don't have by then I'm being induced Tuesday at 9am. I had a really rough pregnancy in the beginning and there was a good chance we were going to lose her. Well we bet the odds and things are looking great. I just can't get the fear out of my head that something will be wrong. I have so many emotions and fears that I feel a bit overwhelmed. Can anyone relate? What can I do to stay focused? I'm scared and I just don't know what to do.
Thanks for any advice you can give. I really appreciate it.

Re: Advice needed
I was afraid that something would be wrong also, and when she was born the doc came into the recovery room to tell me that she was breathing too rapidly and needed to be put in an oxygen hood.
My heart DROPPED. It was like my greatest fears were confirmed. MY DH is EXTREMELy asthmatic also so I just thought hse was in for life-long health problems.
However the docs and nurses in the NICU are EXTREMELY cautious and well trained at dealing with that sort of thing. They took amazing care of my daughter and within 24 hours her lung problems were resolved. Most of it was them just being overly cautious -- which they have to do when little precious lives are at hand.
It is nerve-wracking but please know that your stress can not help it right now. Don't make yourself worry too much because what will be will be and the doctors are truely amazing and if there is anything wrong, they'll take the best care of your child. If you're stressing, just try to focus on all that you've come through. There must be a reason why you've come so far already.

Re: Advice needed
I was afraid too. I didn't take a childbirth class and felt like I didn't know what to expect. The nurses taught me how to breath (which really helped) and I had an epideral. It all seems like a dream 9 weeks later and it was nothing like I had expected. Just remember to push like heck and focus all your energy to your bottom and not vocalizing. I pushed my DD out in less than 20 minutes. The harder and more focused you push the quicker it goes (generally speaking of course). Best wishes.
