Tax spinoff... Should I try a larger company, or a smaller one?

DH and I are currently living in backwoods, VA, but amazingly enough, there is an H&R block down here, as well as 4 or 5 smaller accounting firms. We don't plan to be here after this year.

Should I go to a smaller CPA, or go to H&R Block?

I've never actually had to do my taxes before - my parents have always just taken mine in when they got their's done since it was so simple.

In our area our local H&R block is awesome. Alot of the wives are great CPA's down here and only want to work part of the year and since it's a smaller area they can't find bigger firms to work for so our H&R has great people.
Were in a somewhat small military town.

we're doing H & R as well....we used them last year because we couldn't do our own...we had to because we had to split the NY & GA stuff. My dad always did mine on the computer.

H&R completely ripped us off last year. I had done them online first to get an idea and then we sat for FOUR hrs with a non-professional while she screwed them up and i corrected her numerous times. i dont know why we didnt walk out but we paid hundreds for a truly horrible experience.

We have done H&R Block for 3 years now and have had no complaints. We have only spend an hour each time and we have 2 kids and a house. They charge more than our friend used to but she we lost contact with her and she turned flaky on us.
