Poor DH is sitting at the train station and says its totally empty!

DH called a little while ago. He said that before they hit Jamaica they were making announcements that they'd have to get off the LIRR and walk to the subway to get into Manhattan, but then when they pulled in they said his train was continuing on. Just after they pulled out of Jamaica they announced 45 minute delay, which was a little longer. We're on the Babylon line.

I saw something on the news around 8:30 that there was a disabled train on the main line that was affecting most lines. No service either direction. Maybe check the LIRR website for more info?

I have been checking, it said service has been restored, but trains are running late (duh!...lol)

Poor guy. He must be frozen solid! Weird that the LIRR got hit so hard, it's usually Metro North, and I think they got more snow that we did.

My co workers from LI are stuck on the trains right now. One is coming from Smithtown (not sure what line that is)

I was watching the 6 and 7 am news and as of then the LIRR trains were not running between Jamaica and Penn Station. I don't know about now.
The reason they got hit so hard is because a lot of snow got onto the 3rd rail which usually powers these trains to move. That's why all the trains are stalling.
