Do you find it hard to make new friends?
That sounds so pathetic... but its true! I am 30, and I have a hard time making new friends at my age. Everyone already has their friends and their groups. I have my friends, but most of them do not have children yet, so its hard to relate and to socialize. The few moms I talk to at my 3 yr olds preschool are nice... but we are hallway "aquaintances".
Do you find it difficult to make new friends? The "mommy cliques" can be brutal sometimes!

YEs, I was just telling my husband this. I really need some new friends. I am actally lonley. We need some friends couple friends that have kids.

OMG I was just telling my DH the same thing!!! All of his friends' kids are teenagers so we really are in a totally different place. I went to gymboree but most people already new each!!!

i guess that's why we all need to start getting more G2G'ers going.
I am 24 and have no real friends. Most of my friends are still single. And here I am married, with a baby, and a house!
I live in West Babylon and am looking to expand my "mommy" horizon.

My DH say's this to me all the time. I have no friends and he has a ton.
I only have my family.
I am so shy it is hard for me to meet people. And I feel like I can't have a conversation with someone because I get so nervous

I am with you...it's just so hard balancing work and a life...
Would love to actually hang out with people who "get it"...I am the only one in my friends and DH's friends who has a child...and for a while it seems

I am in the same boat. I am also 24 and only have 1 friend left from high school who I still speak to. We only have 2 couple friends, 1 is getting married tomorrow and 1 is married already. I would love to meet some mommy friends and gtg durning the day. I live in Farmingdale

I have a couple of close Mommy friends, but more mommy "acquaintances".
I think we (meaning LIF Mommies) really should have weekly or bi-monthly GTG's, maybe on the Nassau/Suffolk border somewhere, it's free, we all sort of "know" each other , maybe we could stroll the malls or meet for lunch?
I'm definetly not shy, and I'm free most weekdays except Fridays right now.

We should plan a Nassau GTG, there are so many Suffolk ones that I can't go to. I would love to meet some of the mom's on here also.

No, I don't find it hard but uncomfortable. I bite the bullet and really try to go the extra step to meet new people. I have a whole group of "new" friends just from being social. I'm trying to make some new mommie friends with some of the other mommies on here. I can't wait to meet everyone!

I recently moved upstate. I've actually been set up on what I call Blind Mommy dates. Its really kind of strange to call up someone and say "so and so gave me your number". Even though they are expecting my call it feels so forced.
Then once at the park I really hit it off with this other Mom but i was too nervous to ask for the play date   . Feels like I'm back in high school!!

I am always up for meeting new people with kids. I have a bunch of friends that don't have kids and so many times i feel like they just don't understand. I love going to GTG it's always a nice day out either with or with out Kaylee. I live in Sound beach.

Whew! At least I am not alone! :)
I am basically on the boarder as well. (Farmingdale). I am a SAHM, so weekdays are better for me for a GTG. I know what you mean about Gymboree. I took my older son to Gymbo when he was a baby, and it seemed like I was in a class with all people who signed up together. We were the "outsiders". People were friendly enough, but definately were not open to having another mommy join their group. As I said, mommy cliques can be worse that high school!
Ok, I'm in... who wants to plan something?
