Pet Cemetaries
I know this is a bad question but I was wondering if anyone has ever buried their animal in a pet cemetary. I have always wanted to do that but seeing the price of a normal burial, I don't know if we will be able to afford it when the time comes. Thanks.

Re: Pet Cemetaries
we had both our dogs cremated by a local pet cemetary ( in middle island ) they were really reasonable and even had a little doggie funeral for them - i think that helped mom alot i would recommend them they are next to walmart in middle island

Re: Pet Cemetaries
My Hershey was cremated at the same place. I have some of her ashes on my dresser in a wooden box, my mom has a small glass jar as does my aunt. I also spread some when I plated flowers at DH's parents & sisters graves as well as when I replanted a small bush that a neighbor left for us (not having to do with her death) on our porch on the day she happened to pass.
May all sound strange but has given me more comfort and peace (though honestly I will never really be at peace over her passing ) then I think a plot somewhere would. I'm afraid that would make me too sad.

My Grandpa's dog died not too long after he did. My aunt took his ashes and dug a hole at my grandfather's grave and buried him there.

Re: Pet Cemetaries
ok possible TMI .....
when my sister died - we buried her dogs ashes in the coffin with her ( the dog had died 2 years before he had been in a special box with his photo on it next to her bed)- they were always together so i thought it only right they be together. i dont think there is a right or wrong way to do it - we have our little boston in a box on the shelf by the door ( he liked to look out the door ) - i think it is whatever makes you feel right. when my cat died i buried him next to his favorite scratching tree in the back yard. this way when i sit outside i have him there with me - geesh this is making me cry .
i think when it hapens you will just know what you should do - it will be what you feel in your own heart.
