Disney restaurant question...

I've looked through all the past posts and no one has mentioned this one place to eat at Disney in Florida.

Has anyone ate at the Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary resort??? My sister has 50% off the entire meal, so I was just wondering if anyone had any reviews for it. This is just one of the restaurants that are listed that you can use the discount at.

Thanks!

I have never been there, so I can't give you a recommendation. But all the different places I have ate at in Disney, I have never been disappointed.

Re: Disney restaurant question...

Here is what the unoffical guide to WDW (my bible) has to say on the matter

Concourse Steakhouse 2.5 stars
Quality: 4 stars, Value 2 stars, Expensiveness: Moderate
Reader's Survery Responses: 91% thumbs up, 9% thumbs down

Priority Seating: Recommended
When to go: Any time
Entree range: $14-24.95
Service: 3 stars
Friendliness: 3 stars
Breakfast: 7;30-11am
Lunch: Noon-2:30
Dinner 5:30-10pm

Setting & atmosphere: the decor is a cross between art deco and 2001: A space Oddysey. Large booths sit in the "open air" of the Contemporary's Concourse, with the monorails gliding by overhead on either side.

House specialties: Although the name says steaks, sandwiches, burgers, pizza and pasta dishes are available. The burgers are the best at WDW.

Other reccomendations: Besides red meat: roasted double breast of chicekn, grilled chicken kebabs, grilled mshrimp roasted with pasta, garlic and fresh herbs, salmon coated with maple syrup and black peppercorns and caesar salad.

Summary&Comments:There is still a big gap between quality and value and better restaraunts are a short monrail ride away,, but the steakhouse is acceptable in a pinch.

***This is from the 2003 book, and at that time the restaurant was on an upswing, so it may be even better now.

Re: Disney restaurant question...

I've never eaten here, but I've seen the place. it's probably noisy. I've seen it while I was in the contemporary.

What were the other restaurants on the certificate?

I have my book out now, so ask me anything Chat Icon

ETA: I suggest the Unofficial Guide to WDW. it's incredible. it reviews every restaurant ride, and attraction in detail and it's really accurate

Re: Disney restaurant question...

The other restaurants are...

There are a lot of others, and a lot of rules at to only lunch or dinner, etc., but most of them are counter service.

These are for outside the park...

Cap'n Jack's
Spoodles
Ohana
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Cape May Cafe
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Narcoossee's
Artist Point (too expensive)

Inside the parks... (she has 2 coupons)

Tony's Town Square
Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch)
The Crystal Palace
Liberty Inn
Garden Grill
Biergarten
Le Cellier (lunch)
Hollywood and Vine

and there were others for counter service...

Re: Disney restaurant question...

These are personal reviews:

Cap'n Jack's - I didn't care for this place, the food was kind of bland.

Spoodles - delicious.

Ohana - Never been

Whispering Canyon Cafe - good food, high interaction with cast members, very loud.

Cape May Cafe - a new favorite -- I am not a seafood eater, but their clam back buffet is out of this world.

Yachtsman Steakhouse - number one favorite -- we go here once per trip. It's a bit $$$

Narcoossee's - never been

Artist Point (too expensive) - never been

Inside the parks... (she has 2 coupons)

Tony's Town Square - basic italian cuisine but tasty. great dipping oil for bread.

Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch) - good hearty food

The Crystal Palace - character buffet, I think ADRs are hard to get but the food is supposed to be good (I only went for breakfast and enjoyed it.)

Liberty Inn - never been

Garden Grill - never been

Biergarten - I went years & years ago but not impressed enough to go back.

Le Cellier (lunch) - we went for dinner once and it was ok. But I know I am in the minority here. A lot of people rave about this place!

Hollywood and Vine - I think it's a buffet, we were supposed to go there last month but we changed our plans and ended up not going there.
