repost- question for anyone who had a m/c

I was just wondering at how many weeks? I have two friends who have had them, both of them around 7 weeks. I was just wondering if there was some kind of pattern.

Mine was at 8 weeks....I was going for u/s at least once a week so I know pretty much between what days is missed.

Were you high risk to begin with, because they're not giving me my first u/s until I'm 8 weeks?

Re: repost- question for anyone who had a m/c

I had a M/C at nearly 13 weeks, which is really not common at all... so I don't want to scare you or anyone with my experience..

I do not think there is any 'pattern' to miscarriages, they typically happen in the first trimester, and usually anywhere from 6 weeks to 10 weeks... but there are always exceptions, as in my case. It just seems as though we often hear more about the 6,7,8 week miscarriages, which is why you might be noticing a pattern of sorts..

Since this is your first pregnancy, you have no previous losses, you were not seeing an RE, and you are not over 35 or 'high risk', that is why your OB is probably having you wait until you are 8 weeks for your first U/S. There is absolutely no reason to suspect anything is wrong, and they often feel they can "see" more at 8 weeks, get a heartbeat, measure and date the preganancy, etc..

Good luck to you!

I was high risk -- 38 years old, lots of spotting, and pregnant with twins...!

The 7th week is when the placenta matures and takes over the progesterone supply. It is very common for bleeding and or miscarriage to occur at that time. Chat Icon

1st M/C--5 1/2 weeks
2nd M/C--5 1/2 weeks
3rd M/C--10 weeks

I have something called an MTHFR gene Factor which is why I've had three so far.

8 weeks

I am currently being treated for immune issues that could have caused the miscarriages.
