question about travel systems....
If i get travel systenm such as this one and i also register for the frame part of the snap and go, can i use the car seat part from the travel system in the snap and go frame? Also, how many lbs does the car seat that comes with the travel system go up to? Do I also register for another one for when he or she is a little older?
One more question, do i underatsnd this correctlythe travel system is similar to teh snap and go in that the vcar seat part fits in to teh actually strroller part when they are really young and i can just take that in and out of teh car rather than the baby and then when tghey get oklder i just us eteh stroller and sperate car seat.. Am i wrong or do i sort of have an idea? TIA

Re: question about travel systems....
Since I was getting a complete travel system, I opted not to get the snap n' go -- you can certainly get both -- my sister did -- I just use that to snap the car seat into now and will use it regular without the infant seat when she gets older. I don't find it too cumbersome as some people complain it is -- I think it depends on what model you get. The metrolite is extremely light and easy to fold up.
With that said the graco snug ride which is the infant seat goes up to 22 lbs and 29 inches long for the hight and weight capacities. Because of that once the baby is bigger you can get a regular car seat -- and they have great ones that go from infancy up to toddler age. The Britax is rated the best.
The infant seat does snap from base in the car (get an extra base if you have 2 cars) and snaps into both the snug ride and the travel system.
I hope I answered all of your questions.

Re: question about travel systems....
we went back and forth with the travel system idea and in the end opted against it. we bought the graco snugrider infant carseat frame with a snugride carseat and base.
once she outgrows the infant carseat we will have to buy both a stroller and another carseat. i wanted to save $$$ with the travel system, however i think it would be too cumbersome for me.

Re: question about travel systems....
The new graco infant seats, now called Step 1 Infant SafeSeat (like the one pictured I think) hold babies up to 30 pounds. I ended up getting the regular Snug Ride infant car seat because I also got the Britax Marathon. I figured that as long as I was going to have a car seat that would accommodate an infant of about 20 punds that I didn't need the seat to go up to 30 pounds. Especially since a 30 pound baby plus that car seat would be HEAVY, and I would be taking the baby out to carry it by then anyway because of this.
I did get the stroller that the car seat snaps into plus the Snug Ride frame. Many people have told me that the frame is narrower and therefore easier to use in the stores, and smaller spaces. I will use the bigger stroller once my baby switches to the regular carseat, plus I will have a backup that the infant seat can snap into incase one is in our other car.
My baby isn't here yet, so I still don't know if I have too much "gear" for such a little person yet, but I guess I'll learn and I'll be an expert by the time #2 comes around.
