Does anyone else feel weird...
being home alone at night? My husband is a fisherman and fishing season is starting soon. He will go fishing sometimes between midnight and early morning. I've gotten used to it in the apartment because there are other people renting space out of this house. However, when we move to our own house, I am thinking I might get a little freaked out at first! I just feel like I hear every little noise and think the worst.

Re: Does anyone else feel weird...
He's gone day and night 6 months out of the year. I can relate. I set my ADT on stay and have a handheld alarm pad that I keep by my bed. We have a ranch and I'm on one side and my son on the other. Luckily complete exhaustion of being mom and dad helps me sleep. lol

I already told my husband that I want an alarm system for the house. I think that might be the only way to keep my sanity for awhile!

Re: Does anyone else feel weird...
Yes! There were times when DH had to do overnights and there were times when he stayed at his parents b/c of the weather. Although I fell asleep, it is a strange feeling and one I don't want to experience too often.

Re: Does anyone else feel weird...
Yes!!! DH travels and I hate being alone in the house. My apartment was fine, but it feels weird in the house. when DH isn't home, I keep the alarm set on stay, and sleep with the house phone and cell phone next to me. (I also sleep on DH's side of the bed when he's not home)

Re: Does anyone else feel weird...
I can't fall asleep without DH. I don't mind being home alone when I'm awake, but I hate sleeping alone. He's cute though--I'm going to a 3 day conference in May and one night in bed he hugged me and said, "Don't go don't go don't go!"

Re: Does anyone else feel weird...
I hate when my DH goes on overnight work trips, we have our 3 cats that are in our basement and they make sooo much noise and I get so scared like someone is breaking into my house. I never hear anything when he is home though, but the noises seem to sound louder when he is not here.

Sorry to intrude, but I just wanted to write and tell you girls, maybe you shouldn't post on a public forum that you are home alone at night. You just never know who knows you, and there are quite a few sick-o's out there. Sorry, JMO!!!

Same here, my DH fishes a lot too. Where does he go??
Yes, but I feel much safer now that I have my dog. He hears every little sound and will bark. At night he sleeps with us, so I feel much better when he is in bed, but before that I could NEVER sleep if DH was out.

Re: Does anyone else feel weird...
My dh is in Vegas on a business trip right now and we were just talking about this. I am normally in bed pretty early but when he's away, I stay up so much later because I feel like I need to be awake to keep an eye on the house. I triple check the doors to be sure they're locked. Thank goodness he doesn't go away every month like he used to in his old job.
