Post M/C Questions

I seem to be having a really tough time with all of this, today it seems to be as bad as it was when I found out, and just hoping to ask a few questions to those that have been through this. Thanks in Advance for all of the support....

1. How long did it take to get your AF?

2. Did you feel ready to try again right away?

3. How long did it take you to get pregnant again?

4. When did you stop crying?

Re: Post M/C Questions

1. about a month....I m/c Dec 21 and AF showed around Jan 31 I believe

2. I WANTED to try again right away, but the time we took to heal emotionally was quite necessary.

3. The next time we tried again (3 months later....M/C in Dec, started trying in March) it happened on the 2nd month trying!

4. You never forget, you never stop mourning. This past summer when our first PG would have been 1 year old, I got so sad. And Dec 21 I cry every year now. You always think "What If?" but then you remember that EVERYTHING happens for a reason and I find peace knowing that losing that 1st PG paved the road for my beautiful daughter.

Re: Post M/C Questions

My AF returned roughly 4 weeks after.

We felt ready to try again right away.

I got pregnant the first cycle after AF.

I still feel the sorrow, but I stopped crying about a month after my D&C.

I know it is tough. Stay strong sweetie!!!!Chat Icon

Re: Post M/C Questions

My AF arrived 4 weeks after my D&C. It took a few weeks to get past the initial pain and hurt, but you will always think about it.
The pain does begin to be less consuming.
We were ready to try again immediately, I'm 36 so I don't feel I have the time to wait that others do.
I had my M/C on July 27, this was my 1st PG, had my 1st AF a few weeks ago, and I'm expecting to TTC again this week.... I felt like this time would never get here..
I hope you hurt begins to heal soon, just give yourself the time you're entitled to, to be sad and mourn for your loss. I did... now I'm ready again.

Re: Post M/C Questions

First of all, I want to again say how sorry I am to read about your loss Chat Icon To answer your questions:

1. How long did it take to get your AF?

It was about 7 wks after my D&C that I got AF again

2. Did you feel ready to try again right away?
My doctor wanted me to wait 2 cycles before TTC again, since I miscarried at 13 wks and needed a D&C. I was not ready to try again right away anyhow so I abided by those wishes. I was ready to TTC again after those 2 cycles passed.

3. How long did it take you to get pregnant again?
Once we began TTC again, it only took 2 cycles before we conceived.

4. When did you stop crying?
I cried a lot after losing my baby. I even cried after I became preganant again because I was so afraid of going through that same experience and it terrified me. My miscarriage was one of the saddest times in my life, but I think it is so important to grieve and allow yourself to feel sad - it is a LOSS just like any other loss you woud experience in your life.

I will say though that this board helped me tremendously to cope with my miscarriage - and chatting with other ladies here who had experienced losses and miscarraiges allowed me to put things in perspective a lot better. I am forever grateful for the ladies who helped me cope with my grief and shared their experiences with me.. it made me feel less alone.

We're all here for you, do not hesitate to ask questions or FM any of us who have been there Chat Icon

As for me...
-It took about 4-6 weeks to get AF.
-I thought I was mentally ready after about a month or two but I wasn't allowed to try due to a partial molar pregnancy.
-It took 8 months and 2 rounds of clomid.
-And I probably still cried every now and then about 6 months after. This totally shocked me as I thought I was a wall of strength. I've had a lot of losses in my life but this m/c had a profound impact on my me emotionally.
Grieve as long as you need to. It is a loss....know that many of us share your feelings. It will take time to heal so take care of yourself FIRST. FM if you want to chat! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
