Cute lunch time story....
I just got back from lunch and wanted to tell you about something I saw. I found it both amusing and enlightening, for different reasons.
I went to a deli for lunch and I saw a father with 2 young boys. One was about 2 and the other, I'd say 9 months. The enlightening part was, the boys were African-American, the dad was white, and the older boy wore a Yalmuke (sp?) on his head. I guess the mom is African-American. I just wanted to say I love the diversity in this country....I have never seen an African-American person who wore a Yalmuke and I am 29. So that was enlightening for me, lol. And his hair was in dreads...it was very cute.
The second part, that was amusing, was that the dad proceeded to buy an adult sized meal for the 2 yr old. He plopped him down at the table across from him, put the plate down and let the kid handle it on his own. Bagel, chips, coleslaw, you name it. By the time they left, the floor was covered in chips, the table in chips, bagel and coleslaw and the kids face was a MESS....OMG it was so funny. When they left, he didn't even wipe the 2 yr old or the baby's face..they strolled out of there covered in lunch. Now you know, I am pretty certain if the mom was there, she would have broken the food up into manageable bits and wiped the kids face. It was almost like he had the kids for the day and didn't 100% have the hang of it.
Anyway, I thought they were very cute!!
