so since my closing is tomorrow....
when can i call con ed to ensure i have electricity when i go to the house after closing...since it'll be raining i want to have lights so i can check everything out when i go and soak in that i'm a homeowner 
same goes for water, gas...etc...when do i do all of that?

You can call them now and arrange for the electric to be on and in your name as of tomorrow.

You can even call them a few days after you close and tell them to make it retro the day you closed.
Its not like they are going to shut off the electric.

I made all the arrangements ahead of time, but doing it after closing isn't a big deal either.

I dont like making the arrangements before just in case the closing gets delayed.
Then you have to call a bunch of people to change the date and such.
But you can do it either way.

I already set everything up. I called LIPA, and Levittown water company, and the oil company too...I am ready to go as of next thursday

Congratulations!!! We called the Water and LIPA the day before closing, just so the stuff wouldn't get shut off and then they can charge you a turn on fee. Everything is officially in our name tomorrow!
