I could tell you all this, however I live in ENGLAND and it is totally irrelevant to you, but I will tell you anyway.
I bought mine at a store in Wilmslow in Cheshire and it cost £450...my inlaws bought it for me as a present.
I HEART my Bug. and the baby that goes in the Bug.

Our Chameleon is from BBB and was $800+.
Unfortunately, the Bugaboos aren't really discounted anywhere unless you buy a used one off of Ebay.

Does anyone know about the fisher price stroller that is similar? It is half the price I think. I've seen it and it looks really nice. I wonder how it compaires. We're not buying another stroller for a while now though. Our travel system and $35 combi will have to do for us!

IMO, if you plan on having more than one child it is a great investment! The only reason I didn't get one is because my mom wanted to buy me a stroller and wouldn't have spent $800.

If you live in the city its great. I walk everywhere (about 50 blocks a day when I was home with her) I had the metrolight and the snap and go before this and Jordana would bounce all over. Since I got the Bug, Jordana doesn't move when I go over cracks in teh sidewalk.
Also going up and down stairs is a dream with this stroller.
Its definitely not the perfect stroller, but for city life, its so sturdy!

Ahh I guess since I live in the country and love jogging strollers a BUG is not the way to go... makes sense for what you are saying though

I dont have the bugaboo but do have a travel system and love it!!!
Its called the Stroll Air -www.stroll-air.com
Its pretty heavy so if you live in the city it might not be worth it...but I have used it every day since she was born and it was worth the $$. My parents bought it but I think it was around $570.

I found a frog on craigslist...again, as THREECATS stated, you need to be really careful and really educated before you purchase off of ebay or craigslist. I was on the hunt for a long time and Ive seen the scams...
