I just spoke with my SIL. She said that everything is fine so far. The doctor came in and saw her and said that the baby is not in any distress and that the baby will be born no later than this weekend so in the meantime they are going to keep giving her the steriods for the baby's lungs.
If he is fine when he's born and doesn't need to be hooked up to oxygen machines then they will keep him for a week and a half.
She sounded very calm which is good and it looks like I'm going to be aunt again...twice in one week...

If it's any consolation, my neighbors who were pregnant with due date in mid-October, gave birth in early August. The little one came out at about 3lbs, and stayed in the NICU for a while, but he came home this weekend and is doing GREAT!!! 4lbs is pretty good - you would be amazed at what they can do for premies these days!
