How do I determine when my kitten's birthday is...
We officially adopted our psycho kitten on September 21st. The adoption agency said he was born in July don't know the exact date.
Should we just pick a date in July and make that his birthday. The agency said to make the day of his adoption his birthday just add 3 months to it. So for example on September 21 of next year when he turns 1 he'll really be 1 year and 3 months.
What do you guys think?

why not use July 21st as his birthday? the month he was born and the date you adopted him.
um, wait, i guess this is the same date that the agency is suggesting huh?

yeah maybe we'll just make up a date for him then...
yeah we just knew how old they were (how many months ) so we just assumed a date in the month..

we counted back from the day we adopted our cats
Just so happens their birthdays are exactly a month away from each other

Buddy was nearly a year old when my husband adopted him, March 2000. So when Jim and I started dating (same month) I gave him a bday of Halloween. Seemed like a good day for the big grey cat. Every year since then we have given him a treat on his bday. Cat Milk, Toy, full day of just Buddy attention, etc. I also finally got Jim to give the cat a name... since all he ever called him was "Buddy" it stuck.. the rest of the family calls him "Kitty" or the Chinese version of "Cat". heh
Sparky we adopted for NSAL in June of 05. He was such a small thing. They said he was 6 weeks old. We gave him April Fools for his bday. Unfortunately he died on Jan 06 (posted the heartbreak on LIW back then)
Bonnie & Clyde were adopted in Feb 06 from Last Hope. We could no longer bear the silence in our home and the brother / sister combo just sucked us in. Their cards read Oct 05 as birthdates.
So, now we have three bdays on Halloween!! *whew*
ETA: LOL ok.. like a two year old thread.. whoops.. oh well
