If your marriages fell apart of if you found yourself single (or still are) would you "date" a friend's cast off? Did you ever date (back in the day) a guy that had been with one of your friends?
I would say no. I never found the guys my friends were into "my type" plus there was the whole respect factor that played into that.

No never. Once my friend dated them or was interested in them I would never look at him the same way.
I would feel like it's being disloyal to my friend.
It wouldn't be an issue anyway because we all went for different "types"

same here.. I personally could never do it (but I never had the same taste in men my friends did anyhow..)
Though my brother started dating his best friend's ex girlfriend a few months after they broke up ... 10 yrs later and the exgirlfriend is my SIL and she and my bro are happily married .. AND they are BOTh still great freinds my bro's best freind (her ex!) They were in each other's weddings and everything..
So ya never know!

I once got involved with a friend's leftovers. They were not an official couple, just hooking up. She claimed that she didn't even like him, but when he and I got together it was a MESS and she was so mad at me. If she'd been honest about liking him I would not have done it. When I'd asked if she really liked him, it was because he'd called it off and I wanted to remind her that there was someone else; I didn't have ulterior motives.

I've never dated a friend's ex but I did date a guy one of my friends liked. Originally I was trying to hook them up and he told me he didn't want her he wanted me. That's when I took a good look and realized how cute he really was. Ehh I was in high school whaddya gonna do?
But I definitely wouldn't date anyone of my friend's exes. That's one of the unwritten friend rules.
